About
Upstander Kids Anti-Bullying Camp

Upstander Kids Anti-Bullying Camp is an immersive program for 6 to 12 year olds with empowering daily exercises in Boundary Setting, Mindfulness, Improv, Martial Arts, Meditation, Sports & Games, Dance, Science, and Arts & Crafts. There’s even martial arts training led by former Mighty Morphin Power Rangers stunt performer and teacher from a 2019 Most Loved Santa Monica Business for Kids!

Our Anti-Bullying Camp is a summer extension of the Outreach Program from Alonzo Martial Arts, which are designed to give kids these same skills to effectively negotiate emerging social challenges whether they're on campus or during their other extracurricular activities.

Our approach to building a resistance to bullying in kids addresses both a child’s physical personal space and the personal space between their ears. Our Daily Activities have the commonality of building self-esteem, promoting social skills, camaraderie & teamwork, and practicing empathy and kindness.  Daily activities are subject to change, but will all have the same intention.

My son had a blast at camp! Alonzo, the camp master, is just amazing. He's so dedicated, caring, certified, and super capable. My son had a beneficial time during the two weeks at camp this summer, and it really boosted his skills, fitness, meditation power, and self-belief. He left the camp with real techniques that as well tailored for kids by showing compassion to others. We wish we could have stayed for another week. Thanks a lot, Master Alonzo !! We will definitely join every summer.

My son loved his time with Master Alonzo! He not only learned useful skills, he had fun and made friends.

We could not have asked for a more well thought-out, necessary program that addresses how complex bullying is, what it can look like, and different ways to respond. Master Alonzo is fantastic with the kids, and it is obvious he has put in the work to address children holistically.

The week culminated in a choreographed fight sequence with each of the children getting a role and board breaks. Master Alonzo is easily able to account for different levels of martial arts experience (from none to advanced). It was a fun show and my kiddo was very proud of his week.

My son absolutely loved his experience with this camp. He learned anti bullying techniques but also how to play chess, rock climbing, and even broke a board with his bare hands. This camp gave him the confidence and techniques that will stick with him. I highly recommend it to help kids build their self esteem. Master Alonzo is amazing with the kids. Thank you so much for a wonderful spring break.

Hi, Thank you for your question. In order to gain the maximum benefit for the experience, we recommend doing a full week before reinforcing the lessons with Daily Bookings. However, we realize that our recommendation isn't ideal for every family's situation. Having said that, we'd love to book your daughter for Tue/Wed/Thu. Whether that's for this week or next week, we hope your daughter's doctor's appointments go well and we look forward to being of service! -
Are lunch, snacks and/or water provided? Or should I pack all or any of these things? (Upstander Kids Anti-Bullying Camp) -
